Eventually, every one will face armeggedon's cold gaze. Some will meet it sooner than others.

Long ago in ancient times, there existed a port city of great wealth. The citizens lived in opulant luxey, which was off-putting to the poorer cities that surrounded it. Even their fellow countrymen called the people within this "enlightened"sprawl of buildings and ports hedonistic, as they always sought out various riches, glory, and pleasures of the flesh. Finally at the end of their patience with their neighbors, the smaller cities banded together and created a military of one-hundred-thousand men, having become determined to destroy and subjugate the city and her people.

The ruler of this city was a man named Deadalus. Revered as a kind and benevolent man, his lax attitude and ingenious political manuevering were what enabled his citizens to prosper unchecked. Upon hearing what ruin had been brought about by he and his people's hubris, he immediately began to search for a way to avoid this awful fate. As the encroaching army entered Deadalus' city they were greeted by an eerie stillness. Not a living soul was left in the area. Athorough search of the city turned up nothing. No riches, no food, no people, as if a city had been constructed and then promptly abandoned. Not a sign of life could be found.

In his desperation to save and redeem his people, Deadalus assured that they all would be swept up into the skies. The king and his people resolved to live away from the rest of the world, safe from the enemies they had made on the surface. Taking refugein a golden city hidden in the shadow of the sun, rumors began to spread of Deadalus' apparent mandess. Their ruler
was lsoing his grip on his sanity, becuase in order to save his people he had to pay a great price. This golden city was called Icarus, named for Deadalus' son. After all, there had to be a price paid to save his people, and not much is more valuable than a child.
