The Northlands

The Frozen North of the world, inhabited by a race of Vesmorians similar to the Viking civilization of earth. The North offers very little in regards to flora and fauna, with only the heartiest of plants and animals being found. However the Northmen thrive in this world of ice and snow, surviving less on the environment and more on the seasonal raidings they preform. They attack other nearby settlements, stealing, pillaging, raping and kidnapping.

They are a tight knit people, living together in large clan halls, cut directly into the ice. They worship no gods, except for fire itself, and treat it with great respect. Those asked to stoke the fire or to start it are being given great honour and respect by the Clan. This is usually reserved for guests, and can be a trap, for if the guest refuses, or is incapable of getting the fire started they often become a sacrifice to the fire to appease its spirit. They are strong sailors, and during the off season for raids will take their boats into deep water for whaling and fishing expeditions.
