A Fox in the Light

Night had passed and it was day once again. Fae had learned a whole lot during the long night. She could speak basics sentences and understand most of what everyone was saying. There was still more to learn though. Like right and wrong as well as consequences of actions. To go along with this she also still needed to learn normal social behavior. At first impression one would say she acted like an animal. Even though her family didn't want to admit it they were starting to see her as a pet. Ataku had even attempted petting her which didn't feel weird since her hair was as soft as fur. On top of that Fae found being pet absolutely unresistible. 

Ataku would wake up with the sister snuggled up against him sound asleep. Fae still had the habit of breaking into her brothers room and sleeping with him. She understood she had her own room but why the hell would she sleep in such a lonely place. Not to mention that's where she got grounded to.

Another night time passed, most of it just spent either sleeping or spending it with his new sister.Speaking of her, Ataku turns over and feels a familiar mass next to him. He opens his eyes and is met with tail in his face. Ataku blows the tail back. he lets out a little sigh. "She sneaked into my room again," he thinks to himself. Ataku starts sleepily petting her. He knew she was grounded, but she always finds her way into his room. Ataku checks the time, he could get up right now but that would mean having to move her.

The last couple of months while the night engulfed the planet, Fae really has been adapting to the world and the language. As much of a pet Fae seemed at first, she has really become a part of the family. Ataku thinks to himself, "30 min more," as he snuggles her.

Fae was an extremely light sleeper. The slightest sound one to quiet for her family to hear would wake her up. Even a change of a scent in the air would make her eyes open. Fae awoke the moment Ataku blew on her tail. She didn't stir though or make any indication she had woken up. After all she was still tired and wanted to drift back into sleep. Something that would probably happen very soon. However instead of going to sleep Fae started to purr as Ataku pet her. This was equally as good as going back to sleep and indeed ended up lulling her into sleep still purring.

After getting some more needed rest, Ataku is awakened with the sound of soft purring. Ataku sits up, pulling Fae with him. He scratches behind her ears and says, "cmon its time to wake up now." He flicks the back of her head with his other hand. 

"You know you are grounded, mom and dad will be mad at you if they see you broke in here to sleep with me again." He climbs out of bed and gets dresses for the day ahead of him. with his clothes thrown on, he turns back to Fae. "Cmon, lets go and get you dressed, you troublesome little fox," Ataku says and he pats her.

Fae drifted awake at the beckon of her brother though the scratching kept her from truly waking. That is till Ataku flicked the back of her head, to which Fae responded with a shrill whine. She confused by the mixed messages. One moment he was petting her and loving her and the next hes scolding and punishing her for leaving her room when she was grounded. 

Ataku went to get dressed and Fae in turn did the same, leaving his room with her ears and tails hung low. Getting herself properly dressed for the day Fae remained in her room since she was technically grounded and didn't want to get in any more trouble; from her brother most of all. She waited in her room for someone to come and say she could come out.

As Ataku turned back around, and it seemed that Fae disappeared to her room. Well she was grounded, but hopefully Ataku could do something about that right now.

Ataku exits his room and walks by Fae's room with the door cracked. He sees her sitting on her bed waiting for a command or something. Ataku has to pass by her now, as he makes his way to his kitchen where the rest of his family is waiting there. His mom, Alexandra cooking breakfast and his father, Kenichi sitting at the table planning his day. Ataku takes his seat at the table and starts to speak, "Can you guys explain to me again why Fae is grounded?" 

Ataku understands that Fae has her own room, but why did they ground her for wanting to sleep in the same bed as him. She feels the most safe with him, so why wont they just let her bunk with him.
