Old Ones and their Magic

There is a group of families on Amara that hold their roots in a time when the demons were new. Their families stayed pure, to keep their bloodlines pure and their power strong. They keep to themselves and refuse to deal with what they see as an impure world. While they do keep to themselves, they have strict views of education. Anyone in these families who show a aptitude towards magic are immediately enrolled in a strict almost militant like program which teaches them an old and cruel version of Destruction Magic, dubbed Death Magic. After every few generations, the most gifted student will go through a ritual to become The Marked One, who becomes a keeper of their knowledge and the secrets of their magic. Usually a Marked one will receive a sigil upon their body which befits a certain type of Sin, be it pain, suffering or hatred.

The most recent Marked One, Kris, had every possible sigil carved upon their body and used it to uproot the families. Now, in the past couple years, the families and their magic are up for use in the Aramanth Military. Now the families can and will interact with the impure world.

Death Magic, is a type of magic that does more than just destroy but it will take away and decay all to nothing. Such a powerful magic usually is only capable through direct touch, and requires a lot of energy. It is possible to kill someone outright, but one must overcome the others magical power completely. The source of this power is not only magical power, but also negative energy itself. Sin Energy. The more negative energy a person has within them, the more powerful this magic is. Mastery of this power requires intense focus, study and training. All of which is only accessible through the Old Ones Families.
